The National Bowling Stadium, the only facility of its kind in the world, (referred to as the “Taj Mahal of Tenpins” by The Los Angeles Times) is dedicated to the classic sport of bowling.
Located across the street from the Reno Events Center, the stadium features 78 championship lanes, a pro shop, stadium club and theater. In addition to bowling tournaments, this facility also hosts corporate and convention parties for up to 2,000 people.
For event planners, the National Bowling Stadium features:
The National Bowling Stadium has 65,000 square feet of open space, which is adaptable to various configurations. D.J. and live band stages, dance floors and bistro-style seating are some of the options available to groups that host events there. This space also features the longest video screen in the world, which is capable of projecting video images as well as scoring graphics across 440 feet. The video wall is available for video or slide presentations. A spectator seating section can seat 1,100. Groups can include bowling on any of the 78 lanes as a part of events.
The stadium hosts an extension of the International Bowling Museumand Hall of Fame (IBM/HF), which is located in Arlington, Texas. The museum displays artifacts and portraits of bowling greats.
This theater’s four-story screen can accommodate 70-millimeter films and has a six-channel digital surround-sound audio system. The theater can be used for smaller business video presentations. Larger groups of up to 1,100 can use the 440-foot video screen in the bowling lanes area.
Smaller gatherings can use the Stadium Club, which features antique mirrors, a big screen TV, 1912 Brunswick Regent billiard table and Brunswick Belmont mahogany bar. Overlooking the downtown corridor, the Stadium Club can be used for meetings, cocktail parties or small dinners.
The first floor features the Kingpin Club by Brunswick, which offers private bowling lanes, a lounge and bar and other amenities. This club features razzle-dazzle bowling with vibrant colors flashing in sync with high-energy music.
Spaces are available for business meetings or presentations, such as a 4,500-square-foot room overlooking Reno Aces Ballpark.
Two glass elevators and an escalator transport guests to the fourth floor Tournament Level. The fourth floor includes the Lane 81 Pro Shop, which sells bowling equipment. There is also a Computer Aided Tracking System (C.A.T.S.) Lane that provides bowlers with a computer-analyzed evaluation of their games and recommendations for improvement.
The facility also features the Training Academy, providing custom ball fittings and bowling swing evaluations to bowling beginners and experts. The academy also features a bar and classroom seating. The Training Academy serves as a practice facility for the OPEN Championships at the National Bowling Stadium, as well as a training ground for the United States Bowling Congress.
